Im in the dating Olympics...... Much to my surprise it was a rather charming evening.  It's good to meet new people, to be plunged into a social situation where you can't rely on your usual defences. And it was fascinating mix; bankers, lawyers, a BBC producer, a child psychologist, a divorcee…true the Hedge Fund manager and I spoke a different language but we could wave an smile. Unlike bad dates you don't get cornered for the evening. Between courses the men change seats - slightly less brutal than the three-minute speed-dating pitch. And nobody mentioned the topic of romance for the whole evening, thank God. Totty is not on the agenda on the first date. ...
