Ruby & Sequoia
Just off Portobello and split over two floors, this unique and glamorous venue offers everything for the perfect day or night out. A place to lounge, drink or dine all day long in an award winning interior, the Ruby offers fine food, wine and cocktails. The downstairs Sequoia bar is quite simply one of the most stunning bars in town. Chocolate brown panelling, snakeskin banquettes and chandeliers in the tables make you feel instantly sexy. It is a dark, seductive room of pure glamour and reminiscent of a post Corbusier drinking den.

Notting Hill used to be the place for a lively bar scene, then what happened? Shoreditch. But there's still the occasional gem to be found, such as this latest bar and restaurant from the Ruby Lounge folk.
The ground floor is impressive enough, with friendly bar staff, modish cocktails and a fun interior that mixes diner-style booth seating with silver and white flock wallpaper in a retro-funky way. The dining area has an ambitious menu, ranging from Escabeche of Prawns to Braised Rabbit with Mustard, Tarragon and Bacon, at proper restaurant prices.
After 9pm, DJs spin the decks in the bigger and more elegant Sequoia basement bar, which gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Sequoia's a great place to spread out on the leather banquettes, admire the studied cool of the Perspex lights and wonder what the beautiful young people of Notting Hill actually do for a living."
